Distinguished Concerts International – NY (DCINY)

Join the Cary Community Choir !
The 2020 Choir is over, but we expect 2021 to return to a more traditional choir experience and would love to have you join the celebration. For a half century, this group has presented Handel’s Messiah (Christmas portion “plus”). While we work toward excellence, we emphasize the “community” part of our name. We welcome singers with a wide range of experience. Some are singing Messiah for the first time. Others have advanced degrees in music. Together, we support each other as we experience this monumental musical work.
December 2019 was my first CCC concert. What a wonderful experience to rehearse and conduct 165 singers plus 18 instrumentalists! Following the group’s tradition, we sang the Christmas portion, plus “Hallelujah” and “Worthy Is the Lamb/Amen”. There are video highlights on this website.
Join the Choir’s Celebration – Even in 2020
This year we will stay safe, singing as a virtual choir. In May, 2021, the choir is invited to join a Carnegie Hall performance of my cantata, Once Upon a Morning. Then, in December, 2021, we’ll celebrate our 51st presentation of Messiah plus an anthem commissioned for the occasion.
More about the Anthem…..
Here is the commissioned anthem for the celebration of the 50th performance of the CCC. Originally meant for 2020, it will be presented in December, 2021. The anthem has already been published. I was also able to include it in my Christmas cantata, The Seven Noels.
Our choir has a wonderfully positive energy of support. We would love to add your voice to this great chorus.
