We’re Back!
Yes it’s true! Cary Community Choir will perform in-person this year and we are overjoyed! It’s our 50th Anniversary so this news is all the more fitting that we’ll celebrate together. The performance is scheduled for Sunday, Dec 5th at Westwood Baptist Church in Cary, NC. Pepper Choplin will be our conductor. Guess what? He wrote a special piece for us for our 50th Anniversary Celebration! Isn’t that fantastic? Wait until you hear it. It’s wonderfully uplifting. Perfect for 2021.
A Note From Pepper
Were your there with 165 singers plus orchestra back in December, 2019? I remember what a wonderful night it was. Now we’re thrilled to plan a new Messiah concert on Sunday, December 6, 2021 at 7:30pm.
Just the thought of it stirs my soul! My first time conducting you was a complete pleasure. I’m eager to join our voices again to present Handel’s masterpiece.
We’ll also sing the piece Cary Community Choir commissioned me to write for 2019. I think you’ll really enjoy performing this. It’s not as hard as Messiah, but is infused with just as much JOY. You may begin rehearsing here now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVPM_1vH76M.

Rehearsals: Tuesdays 11/9, 11/16, 11/30 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Dress Rehearsal: Saturday 12/4 from 9:30am-12:00pm
Performance: Sunday 12/5 at 7:30pm
Who We Are
The Cary Community Choir is an inclusive musical community, welcoming singers of all levels of experience. There are no auditions. Many of our singers have participated in this event for decades, while others are just starting to make this a part of their holiday tradition. Generally speaking, a singer should be at least 16 years old to participate, with those below 18 needing at least one year of choral experience.
Singers are required to attend the Dress Rehearsal and at least one other. That said, singers are strongly encouraged to attend as many rehearsals as they can, especially since this year’s performance will include the commissioned anthem.
